My friend Samuel Clay Birmaher wrote a beautiful birthday piece for me in 2021, a large organ work called Forever. It was an ingenious counting song, mesmerizing, mysterious, concealing its counting process in a gorgeous way. This piece was my 2022 response, done for his birthday. It too is a counting song, but the process isn't concealed at all. And it's almost as if the music keeps losing count, but it never lets up. I almost changed the title to something more appropriate for a birthday gift, but it felt right for the kind of year we were having.

The piece was first performed by Carson Cooman in July 2022 and his performance can be heard on Youtube. A second performance was done a year later by Luca Massaglia. Both performances are linked below:
